    • Al Capwned says:

Too short unfortunately. At first, I thought that its purpose would be to show tiny bits of Dublin's history to the reader, like a souvenir for tourists but the book tries to cover so much that it's difficult for someone without previous knowledge of irish history to have a clear understanding.

    • Roger Woods says:

The emphasis in this book is in the title "SHORT"! It reads like a collection of articles on each period dealt with rather than a history as such. There are some interesting passages but if you want to read about the history of Dublin in any detail you will need to look elsewhere.

    • Manan Shah says:

As promised in the title, a fast summary of Dublin through the ages. And it confirms a long-held truth about history: the English really do f*ck everything up.
